Aleppo and Daraa, SANA-The Christian denominations in the governorates of Aleppo and Daraa held this evening prayers and masses in celebration of the feast of Eid.

Christian denominations in the governorates of Aleppo and Daraa held this evening prayers and masses to celebrate the glorious Christmas, the birth of Christ, the Messenger of love and peace.

During the Eid sermons, the speakers in Aleppo pointed to the lofty meanings of the birth of Jesus Christ, the propagator of goodness, love and peace, and the uplifter of injustice from humans, pointing to the coincidence of the victory achieved by Aleppo over terrorism and its liberation from invaders with the glorious Christmas.

The speakers called for good and peace to prevail throughout Syria, to have mercy on the martyrs and heal the wounded, stressing their confidence in the men of the Syrian Arab Army and the wise leadership of President Bashar al-Assad to achieve victory over the enemies and liberate every inch of the homeland from the abomination of the occupier.

Prayers are offered in the Church of Our Lady of the Transition, Archbishop Antoine Shahda, head of the Syriac Catholic sect, in the Church of the Prophet Elias, Archbishop Ephraim Maalouli, head of the Greek Orthodox sect, in the Chaldean Church, Archbishop Antoine Odo, head of the Chaldean sect in Syria, and in the Church of St. Barbara, Archbishop Boutros Marayati.

Head of the Armenian Catholic community, in the Syriac Orthodox Church, Archbishop Boutros Kassis, the patriarchal delegate of the Syriac Orthodox denomination in Aleppo; .

In Daraa, the Melkite Greek Catholic John of Damascus Church held a Divine Liturgy on the occasion of Christmas, in the presence of the people.

The liturgy included prayers, religious hymns, and calls for the establishment of security and peace in all parts of Syria.

Father Albert Nassar, pastor of John of Damascus Church for the Melkite Greek Catholics, said in a statement to SANA reporter, “I congratulate after the glorious Christmas to all those who shared the joy, headed by the Syrian Arab Army that watched over the security of the citizen, stressing that Christmas is a look of mercy from God the Creator to man and a call for compassion with each other to reach true happiness.

The attendees expressed their wishes for intercession for all Syrians, for the return of security and stability to all Syrian cities and towns, and for the smile to return to every suffering person with hope for a promising and bright future.
