An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit the city of Phongsali, northwest of the Republic of Laos, without immediate reports of injuries or damage.
According to the US Geological Survey, the tremor occurred at a depth of 10 km at 22.3643 degrees north latitude and 101,688 degrees south longitude.
