Summary.

Marie-Antoinette still fascinates and intrigues, more than 200 years after her death.

Source code tells in two episodes the life of the one who was the queen of the most beautiful kingdom in Europe.

In the first episode, Code source told you about Marie-Antoinette's beginnings at Versailles. Freeing herself from the too strict conventions of the court, she took refuge in the Petit Trianon, a castle donated by her husband Louis XVI. There she plays cards with her friends, or organizes gallant games in the gardens. His outspokenness creates enemies for him. And since she met Count Axel de Fersen, rumors have circulated about her relationship with this handsome Swedish soldier.

Pamphlets and cartoons target the queen. The rest of his reign, which we recount in this second episode, is disastrous. Its unpopularity with the French grew. On a personal level, she is bereaved by the death of her mother, then of two of her children. Following the Revolution, the queen was forced to live in the Palais des Tuileries, under the surveillance of the people of Paris. Condemned to the guillotine on October 16, 1793, a cart takes her to the scaffold, on what is now Place de la Concorde ...

This episode of Source Code is told by Charles de Saint Sauveur, Parisian history specialist and Hélène Delalex, historian and heritage curator at the Palace of Versailles, in charge of Marie-Antoinette's apartments.

In November, she published at Perrin an autobiography of the last queen of the Ancien Régime "Marie-Antoinette Lightness and constancy".
