Marseille: a woman tries to hit several vehicles then shouts "Allah akbar" during her arrest

A 34-year-old woman, Asma B., was arrested on Wednesday, December 22 at around 2:30 p.m. after having attempted to deliberately collide with several vehicles on a pass in the Calanques massif, in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille,

" several times during her arrest.

A few minutes before his arrest, several motorists had called the police to report the presence of this woman praying by the side of the road, very close to her vehicle dangerously parked at the Col de la Gineste, a winding road connecting Marseille and Cassis.

Just after this prayer, the thirty-something had taken the wheel of her vehicle then tried to deliberately collide with other motorists.

Thinking that the driver wanted to "

jump into the void

", an individual

got out

of his car to try to establish a dialogue with her.

But on approaching he had noticed that she was in a telephone conversation on loudspeaker with a man ordering her: "

If he comes near you press!"

The driver then tried to hit the pedestrian, missing him.

Placed in police custody, Asma B. was taken to the emergency room after feeling unwell.

She was hospitalized in psychiatry in the wake.

Previously residing in Limoges, the applicant had already been in a psychiatric hospital in March 2019 due to her "

delusional and paranoid

" state.

Investigations are continuing.
