Ethiopia is in one of its most difficult periods.

The fighting of the army forces in the militias that arose from the Tigray district to challenge the government has severely damaged the economy which has been growing in recent years.

But what led to the current chaos?

During the reign of Melas Zenawi - the former president and prime minister - Ethiopia was divided into eight states, each with its own laws and rules, and the central government was in Addis Ababa. The tensions between the tribes, the most prominent among them - Amhara, Oromo and Tigray.Zenawi belonged to the Tigray tribe, and during his 27 years of rule the Amharics showed hostility towards him and accused him of withholding budgets for the Amhara area and investing in the development of the Tigray area.

Debrecen GavriMichael is the current president of the Tigray region and was part of the previous administration.

He was also part of the group that elected Abbey Ahmed to the post of caretaker prime minister, but during Ahmad's tenure, a gap was created between the government in Tigray and the federal government.

For the past 27 years, the challengers have held key positions, and Ahmad, who was a part of them, has begun to take distance from them and appoint a diverse cabinet.

The Tigray felt betrayed and decided to abandon Addis Ababa and move to the capital of Tigray, Mekla, and began preparations for secession from Ethiopia.

During the reign of the Tigras they passed a law that allowed each district to establish an independent state.

They wanted to realize this and began preparations for independent elections to establish facts on the ground.

It was a provocation by the central government, with the extreme step being to enter a military base while their men took equipment and shot at soldiers.

This incident put an end to the patience shown by Prime Minister Ahmad, and he, in response, announced the operation to regulate the rule of law and attacked Tigray with military forces.

With the departure of the army forces from Tigray, the tension that existed between the Amhara and Tigray area flared up anyway.

District Prime Minister Gabramichael sent troops to the Amhara area and caused great destruction to the property and killing of thousands of Amharim, conquered vast areas and caused the masses to abandon their homes and move to other areas under Amhara control. These became reluctant refugees in their country.

As the militias approached the cities close to Addis Ababa, Prime Minister Ahmad handed over power to his successor, passed quite an army and began commanding the forces on the ground. Conquered into power.

Ahmed's enlistment in the army and his leadership are highly sympathized within Ethiopia, but at the same time - condemned by heads of state in the West, who embraced him when he won the Nobel Prize.

Ethiopia accuses the West, and especially the United States, of arming Tigray militias and supplying technological equipment with the aim of destroying Ethiopia from within. They are taking part in the progress of the militias.

So the war on militias may be won by Ethiopia, but the fight against the acute economic crisis will continue.

The local currency is at an unprecedented low, there is a shortage of foreign currency, and in the last year farmers are at the forefront of the fighting instead of growing the grain.

Prime Minister Ahmad faces three difficult tasks: establishing a people's army that will unite all of Ethiopia, rehabilitating the economy by attracting investors and restoring the country's image in the world. Ethiopia needs the West to recover, and needs humanitarian aid to survive.
