Police car rammed: test drive ends with arrest

A 22-year-old drives away from a salesperson as a result of a test drive in Lower Saxony.

The joyride ends in handcuffs because he rams a patrol car.

Langenhagen - On a test drive, a 22-year-old drove away from the seller in his car - and ran into a patrol car while on the run in Lower Saxony.

The man was provisionally arrested, the police said on Friday.

The seller had agreed to a test drive on the company premises, but the young man drove away in the car without a license plate on Thursday.

The seller alerted the police.

While on the run, the 22-year-old ignored all signs of a patrol car, drove into a garden fence and into a street sign.

He backed up, rammed the police car arriving behind him, and fled on.

Then he drove head-on again into a garden fence.

While reversing, he ran over a metal gate, the car wedged and got stuck.

The officers arrested him, but he was eventually released from the office.

The police are now investigating endangering road traffic, driving without a driver's license, fleeing an accident, misappropriating a car, violating the compulsory insurance law and violating the motor vehicle tax law.

Test drive ends in temporary arrest - more accidents in Lower Saxony

While the test drive ended in a provisional arrest, there was already a tragic accident on Thursday, in which a 15-year-old was killed after the fully occupied car got off the road and hit a tree.

Also on Thursday there was an accident on the A1 due to black ice, while motorists across Germany were surprised by the slipperiness on the roads.

There were hundreds of accidents nationwide.
