This long Christmas holiday, Yuen Long Tai Tong is bound to explode!
The Fisheries and Conservation Department updated the "Red Leaf Index" on Christmas Eve, from last week's red to this week's red (some extremely red), which means that the red leaves of the sweetgum Liquidambar forest have entered the most beautiful moment!
During the long holiday from December 25th to 27th, apart from the MTR feeder bus K66 and K66A services between Tai Tong and Long Ping stations, KMB 68R will also provide services between Yuen Long Yokohama and Tai Tong .

The Fisheries and Conservation Department today (24) updated the "Red Leaf Index" of the Red Leaf Information of Liquidambar formosa in Tai Lam Country Park, from B last week to B (part A) this week, which means red (partially extremely red).
The authorities reminded that when the red leaf index turns to B or A, the visitors of Liquidambar formosana will increase significantly. Please avoid visiting Liquidambar formosana on Sundays and long holidays.

During the Christmas holiday, Tai Tong's transportation services will be strengthened.
From December 25th to 27th (Saturday to Monday), hikers can transfer buses to Tai Tong Shan Road at Yuen Long Station or Long Ping Station.
At Long Ping Station, there is the MTR feeder bus K66A, and at Yuen Long Yokohama there is KMB 68R.
As for the daily route K66 will continue to serve, but the alighting station at Tai Tong will be slightly farther.
Daily transportation service daily:
MTR bus K66 boarding
station: Ping Cheong Path (MTR Long Ping Station Exit B1) and
alighting station: Tai Tong Shan Road (the intersection of Kiu Hing Road)
Fare: 4.8 yuan
Brief comment: Friends who take the West Rail to Yuen Long will be more convenient to take the K66. The stop is not far from Long Ping Station, and the fare is smaller and cheaper.
However, K66 also needs to serve the villagers and neighborhoods in Yuen Long South. There are many stops, usually stopping at each station, and sometimes it takes half an hour to get to Tai Tong.
Datangshan Road is the station of Meier, after the Datang roundabout.
In addition, if you choose the route from Yangjia Village to Huangnidun Reservoir, you can get off at the terminus of Huangnidun Village.

In addition, from December 8th to January 14th, from Monday to Friday, non-public holidays, there will be a MTR bus K66S going back and forth between Long Ping Station (near Ping Cheong Path) and Tai Tong Shan Road (near Pavilion), but There is only one shuttle bus per day.
The service from Long Ping to Tai Tong leaves at 10:30 in the morning, and the service from Tai Tong to Long Ping leaves at 3:30 in the afternoon.

Brief comment: Cotton Tree Drive is not close to the West Rail Station, but close to Yuen Long Main Road. If you take a bus to Yuen Long, you can get off at Tai Tong Road, walk along Tai Tong Road, and then transfer to Qian Se Hui Shopping Mall On the opposite of Hongmianwei, the minibus station is just inside.
The frequency of minibuses is very dense. It may be time for a MTR bus, and several minibuses have already left at the same time.
In the busy days of the red leaves season, I even saw red minibuses not taking the regular route and going up to the Datang barbecue site to pick up customers.
In addition to MTR buses, you can take the red minibus to Tai Tong at Cotton Tree Drive.

The terminus of K66A is different from K66. The boarding station is at Exit B2, just across the road from K66 station, closer to Yueping Building, Langping Village; as for the K66A Datangshan Road Station, it’s at the intersection next to the pavilion. The K66 station on Qiaoxing Road is closer to Datang Barbecue Field and Liquidambar Forest.
Therefore, if you are going to see the red leaves on a weekend holiday, taking K66A will be more convenient than K66, shortening the walking distance up the mountain, but it takes about 1 hour to walk to the Liquidambar Forest.
On weekends and holidays during the red leaf season, there will be a special route K66A between Long Ping Station and Tai Tong within a specified time.

to Tai Tong because the parking spaces of Tai Tong Shan Road parking lot are limited and the Transport Department announced that the section of Tai Tong Shan Road between the rain shelter and the Tai Tong Shan Road parking lot will be held from December 4, 2021 (Saturday) to January 2022 On 16th (Sunday) every Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, it will be closed intermittently from 7 am to 7 pm every day, and all vehicles are prohibited from entering.
