The Duke and Duchess of Sussex became parents for the second time last June, but have not shown their second daughter in public since.

On June 6, Henry of England and Meghan Markle announced the birth of their second and long-awaited daughter, little Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

However, in these six and a half months the dukes had not once shown their daughter in public.

Up to now.

It was the couple's Christmas greetings that allowed little Lilibet to be seen for the first time.

The photograph of the four members of the family shows an image that appears natural but is taken care of in detail and that has been taken by the prestigious photographer Alexi Lubomirski, who has already portrayed Enrique and Meghan on several occasions, including his own wedding.

Taken outside, on what looks like a porch, everyone but the girl is wearing jeans: Archie in a white shirt, Enrique in a blue one, and Meghan in a black sweater.

While Enrique holds his first-born (who sports a red hair similar to his own), Markle holds her daughter in her arms.

The 2021 Christmas greeting from Enrique of England and Meghan Markle with their children Archie and Lilibet Diana.

“This year, 2021, we have welcomed our daughter Lilibet into the world. Archie made us mom and dad and Lili has made us a family. While we look forward to the arrival of 2022, we have made donations to various organizations that honor and protect families, from those that relocate people from Afghanistan to American families who need paid paternity leave ", say Enrique and Meghan in the text that accompanies the congratulation. "We wish you a Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year, from our family to yours," he concludes.

Little Lilibet has been haunted by some controversy since she was born, especially because of her name, since Lilibet is an affectionate and very intimate nickname that only the closest members of the royal family used with Queen Elizabeth II. Hence the question arose as to whether the sovereign had given her grandson permission to use it. While he has always said yes, from the palace he has always refused. In addition, after the birth of the little girl it was learned that her parents had registered her name - and some other options - before her arrival in the world.

Lilibet is one of four new great-grandchildren for Elizabeth II this year.

She has been joined by August, the first baby of Eugenia de York, young daughter of Andrés and Sarah Ferguson, born in February;

Lucas, the third child of his eldest granddaughter, Zara Tindall, who was born last March, and Sienna Elizabeth, born in September and the first-born of Beatriz de York, the eldest daughter of Andrés and Sarah.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no longer part of a royal family, but their Christmas greetings are still just as expected as those of other royals.

His brother Guillermo published his with Kate Middleton and their children a few days ago, and in it the five posed in Jordan during a private trip at the beginning of the year.

Harry and Meghan are not expected to return to the UK for Christmas.

They no longer did so last year, when Meghan was pregnant and in what was the first year after her split from the British royal family.

This year will be the first in which Elizabeth II will celebrate Christmas since she was a widow.

In addition to canceling her traditional family lunch to celebrate the dates, the sovereign has decided to stay in Windsor and not travel to Sandringham, for fear of contagion of covid-19 due to the expansion of the omicron variant.
