The Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority called on the owners of unlicensed electronic applications specialized in transporting passengers to complete the required licenses to be allowed to operate.
In a statement to SANA, the Director General of the authority, Eng. Manhal Junaidi, explained that following what was published by the Ministry of Transport regarding the blocking of unlicensed electronic applications specialized in transporting passengers, the applications must complete the required licenses in order to allow their work and secure all the necessary facilities for them to spread their services, indicating that hosting services have been suspended for each application. The approval of the Ministry of Transport has not been completed to date.
Junaidi pointed out that Law 16 of 2021 allowed companies wishing to transport passengers through an electronic application to operate in accordance with specific controls and licenses to ensure the safety of the work of the company that owns the application, owners of vehicles and passengers.
Junaidi renewed the call for the owners of applications operating with transporting passengers to obtain a license or complete their licenses to ensure the safety of their work, the work of vehicle owners working with them, and the rights of citizens who use them.
