Authorities in London have reported the worst infection rates since the outbreak in the country • The spread of the omicron variant in the country is the capital London

Britain today (Friday) set a weekly record for the outbreak of the corona virus, with more than 1.7 million people being infected with the corona virus last week.

This is the highest figure since the outbreak of the plague in the country.

In England more than a million and a half people became infected, one in every 25 people.

In the capital London, the largest city in the country and the focus of the outbreak of the virus, one in every 20 residents is infected with the virus.

Despite the lack of comprehensive data, experts in the country estimate that the omicron variant of the virus is behind the explosion of cases in the country.

Dr Jenny Harris, head of the state health agency, told Sky News: "Most of the cases we have seen so far in Omicron are among young people.

Maybe it's because they are less careful and turn around more.

Only now are we seeing significant cases of infection among people in their sixties and older.

This is the test moment to check the severity of the disease caused by the variant. "

British Health Secretary Sajid Javid told the country's media outlets that a new decision on population restrictions would not be announced until after Christmas, but made it clear that tougher measures against the spread of the virus were certainly on the London government's agenda.

At the same time, two British studies published in the Kingdom have shown encouraging data regarding the danger of the Omicron variant, and it seems that it is indeed less dangerous than the Delta version.

At the same time, it seems to be more contagious despite the vaccines and more elusive, meaning it is more difficult to detect.

"Cautious optimism," defined biochemist Manuel Askano of Vanderbilt University, one of the scientists who studied the virus.

In another study by the British Imperial College, experts found that the current strain was less likely to cause the vertebrate to be hospitalized.

This is about 20 percent less than the possibility of being hospitalized in the Delta variant.

A separate study conducted at the University of Edinburgh revealed similar conclusions but higher data: the chance of hospitalization under the Omicron variant is two-thirds lower than its predecessors.

"The data is encouraging," the experts concluded.
