Penzberg - The Inner Wheel Club's Penzberg “Wish Tree” campaign is over.

All 110 wishes were fulfilled.

Donations were also made for social projects.

Shortly before Christmas Eve, the Inner Wheel Club (IWC) Pfaffenwinkel finished its 13th "Wish Tree" edition.

The social project had its domicile again in the office of the VR-Bank Werdenfels at the Penzberger Hauptkreuzung.

As reported, the dedicated women had to organize the project again this year under special Corona conditions: Whoever wanted to participate, simply "plucked" a piece of paper with a request from the "Christmas tree" poster that was specially hung in the bank foyer and threw it into a box that had been set up .

The club women collected the envelopes, took care of the presents for those in need and delivered them to the festival.

More demand than wish list

In the end, the campaign was “crazy”, as IWC President Petra Prokop told the Rundschau. “We are overjoyed.” No wonder, after all, all 110 wishes, from children as well as seniors, were fulfilled. "We would like to thank the population," says Prokop - after all, it was not easy for everyone involved in view of the pandemic situation. The fact that the Penzbergers were so generous, "that is extraordinary," said the President. In the end, there was more demand for the wish lists than were offered. And so, according to Prokop, around 500 euros came together in excess. The VR-Bank went one step further: Team leader Florian Pildner presented Prokop and her deputy Gabriele Ahl-Pokorny with an oversized check for 1000 euros. The Inner Wheel Club wants to use the additional money for social projects. You can use it: The donations are the only income this year that the club, which has around 20 members, was able to generate for it - in times of Corona, its benefit events fall flat.
