“It's good that the blackboard exists.

It's a shame that we need them, ”said Gilching's mayor Manfred Walter on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Gilchinger Tafel two years ago.

For Deputy Mayor Matthias Vilsmayer, head of the Blueants company, the party was the reason to start a Christmas campaign.

For the third time, there were individually put together gift packages for around 60 people who collected them.

- In advance, users of the board were allowed to fill out wish lists again, which were then passed on to Vilsmayer. The fulfillment team included his wife Stefanie Hirsch and seven company employees. “We received a total of 60 wish lists from children and adults. Warm clothing, winter boots, groceries and hygiene articles, toys, pajamas, green plants and lamps for the apartment, as well as vouchers for local shops, were preferred, ”reports Hirsch. The lists were distributed in such a way that everyone in the team could take care of about ten requests. "And we were all of the opinion that we already had a lot of fun shopping," explained Hirsch. She was touched by the note from a participant who had written on the slip: “I will pass my wish on to a family with children.“The wish was then also fulfilled by means of a voucher. Hirsch attaches great importance to the fact that all items were bought as far as possible in local retail outlets. Katharina Roth was also there. “We think the campaign is really great because we ourselves really enjoy going out with the wish lists, buying the gifts and packing them individually,” enthuses Roth.

The gifts were distributed at the food distribution center on Wednesday afternoon. “The people were very touched when we handed them their personal parcels,” says Tafel employee Maxi Zachäus. “Unfortunately, because of Corona, we couldn't celebrate with biscuits and mulled wine, as we used to, this year. We had to strictly adhere to the hygiene regulations and were only allowed to let in two people who had been vaccinated or tested. "

“Not only guests of honor from business and politics were invited to the 20-year anniversary of the Tafel in Gilching Town Hall, but also many users of the Tafel,” says Vilsmayer, recalling his motivation for the project.

At that time he started talking to people who need support.

“This showed that many of them slipped into the crisis through no fault of their own.

I was particularly touched by the children, who were very humble and were really happy about the smallest gifts.

It was clear to me that I wanted to fulfill some of the wishes of the hearts of the people for Christmas. "
