Adults - enough to be pushed to tickling | Israel today

 Take a look at the politicians' videos and understand the disconnect between man and his self-awareness

Here is something we all have in common, without exception: at one time we were boys and girls.

And even if it was a long time ago, it's hard to forget how debilitating the situation was where parents, uncles or other adults tried forcibly to integrate into our childish world.

For example, start using up-to-date slang, wearing an inverted hat or getting carried away with a momentary trend.

When adults try their best to stay young and relevant forever, it always seems pathetic.

It is enough to take a look at the new sketches of "This is it" or in the videos that MKs and ministers consistently publish in their ticketing accounts, to understand the disconnect between the person and his self-awareness.

Tiktok is a social network that feeds on videos lasting 15 seconds to a minute, and is built on an algorithm that mostly young people understand how it works.

In the past year, one could find Economy Minister Orna Barbibai throwing Ben & Jerry's ice cream in the trash in her home kitchen;

Yoav Kish is dancing because Filibster has been fired;

Bnei Gantz stings Netanyahu over the way in which opposition leader rolls feed on the phone; Netanyahu does running training in the Knesset plenum; Galit Distel Atbrian sings and smuggles out guitarist Amir Ohana due to excessive forgeries; Any ticking trend is possible.

Politicians are certainly an extreme example, because all their nonsense gets exaggerated resonance, but a lot of celebrities and anonymous people have been drawn to this app and try to stand out in it.

By and large, everyone delivers the same videos, dances the same way, does lip-syncing to the same songs and broadcasts to the world that they don’t care about anything.

I mean, only the likes matter.

This week, Judy Nir Mozes was interviewed on Almog Boker's program following user comments she received about the ticking videos she posted.

"Maybe it's hard for people to contain the fact that a 63 - year - old woman is behaving like a 20 - year - old," Boker snapped at her, "do not you feel 'maybe I'm a little ridiculous myself'? It does not cross your mind before you upload such a video to the net?"

But Judy dismissed him and explained that this is what makes her good.

The truth must be told, and it must include us all: When adults get into ticketing to ride trends that are popular with teens, it will always look awkward, in every generation.

Like a desperate attempt to stop time.

And it does not matter if you are called Merav Michaeli or Britney Spears: if you have already entered a new platform, at least do something original or different there, which will also suit your real age.

So why are embarrassing adults in Tiktok a common thing?

Because every leak produces traffic and likes, and immediately surfs to other networks and rolls into TV, and that's how more new followers arrive.

If in the old world it was clear that money symbolizes success, today we live in a world where the number of followers implies your status.

Both the security guard at the mall and the minister in charge of him want more followers today, and if possible also at Tiktok - then why not.
