British police today arrested an armed young man who infiltrated the Royal Family's Windsor Castle area.
Reuters quoted Times Valley Police as saying that they had arrested a 19-year-old man from Southampton who was in possession of an offensive weapon, indicating that he was practically spotted seconds after breaching Windsor Castle.
"The man has been arrested on suspicion of hacking or trespassing on a protected site and possession of an offensive weapon and remains in custody at this time," Police Chief Rebecca Mears said.
Mers noted that the gunman did not enter any buildings and members of the royal family were informed of the incident.
