Two people were killed today (Saturday) in two different road accidents in the north.
An ATV rider, a 22-year-old resident of Yokneam Illit, died in the afternoon in a self-inflicted accident near the town of Gilad in the Megiddo Council.
Hours earlier, a woman crossing the road in the Galilee landscape had been run over to death.
The offending vehicle, a 39-year-old resident of the place, was killed and detained for questioning.
MDA crews who arrived at the scene of the ATV accident said: "We entered the area with the intensive care unit and got as close as possible to the accident area until we joined a jeep that took us with all the medical equipment to the injured who was unconscious and suffered a severe head injury.
"With the help of a pickup truck that was in the area, we rescued the wounded man during medical treatment to an intensive care unit, where we continued our efforts to save his life, but his injury was fatal and we had to determine his death."

As a result of the accident in the Galilee landscape, the woman was first evacuated in critical condition to the Italian hospital in Nazareth, but there the doctors determined her death.
"The wounded woman was lying on the road next to the vehicle while she was unconscious and suffering from severe injuries to her head and limbs," said MDA paramedic Tawfiq Rinawi
