Archbishop Krikor Koussa, Bishop of Alexandria, assured the Armenian Catholics that Syria was and will remain a country of peace and love.

"We pray for peace for all human beings, and we seek to spread love and end hatred and evil, and we pray that the Lord protects our country from the scourge of terrorism," Archbishop Koussa said at Christmas mass yesterday evening.

In a statement to SANA’s reporter in Cairo after the mass, Archbishop Koussa congratulated Syria’s people, army and leadership on Christmas and its victory over terrorism, and said: “Syria is the cradle of the heavenly religions, and from these religions we proceed to love for each other.”

He added: "Christmas is a holiday of love and peace, and we pray for the comfort of the souls of our martyrs, who sacrificed the most precious and precious to preserve every inch of the beloved Syrian land.. Peace for Syria, peace for our people and peace for our homeland, and long live Syria always proud of its leadership and people."

Archbishop Koussa prayed for the return of security and stability to all Syrian lands and for peace to prevail throughout the world.

The mass was attended by Ambassador Dr. Bassam Darwish, Chargé d'Affairs of the Syrian Embassy in Cairo, the Ambassador of Armenia in Egypt, and representatives of the Egyptian Presidency and the Ministries of Awqaf and Interior in the country.
