London - According to current knowledge, the Corona variant Omikron is probably much more contagious than the Delta variant.
In addition, some findings suggest that Omikron disease is often milder in younger patients.
But there is still a lot of research going on.
Another finding: the symptoms also differ in some cases from those of other corona variants.
Omikron patients are said to often suffer from night sweats.
According to the British portal
themirror.co.uk
, the
ZOE corona symptom
study has
now discovered another symptom.
Accordingly, people who have been infected with the variant often suffer from great loss of appetite.
Corona: Study shows new omicron symptom
For the study, the researchers compared data from patients who contracted the Omicron variant in the UK with data from October, when Delta was the dominant mutation.
The loss of appetite is new to Omikron, it does not appear at Delta, it says in the report.
The study does not reveal how high the proportion of patients affected is.
Symptom research should, among other things, help identify and diagnose the virus and thus enable faster intervention in the event of a disease.
Omicron symptoms similar to Delta
Other symptoms of Omicron, according to the ZOE, include:
runny nose
Headache
exhaustion
Sneeze
Sore throat
It is also surprising to many that ZOE largely found that many symptoms of Omicron and Delta are similar.
In addition, only 50 percent of the affected patients suffer from classic symptoms such as fever, cough or a loss of taste.
