Opinion | Jewish State: Abbas Not Alone Israel today

2021-12-25T21:02:32.390Z

We, who want to join hands with the citizens of the State of Israel, without sacrificing our national identity, out of respect for the symbols of the state and its laws, embrace Mansour Abbas and hope that he will influence the three members of his movement, RAAM, who will walk with him in the new path

The statement by the head of the RAAM party, Mansour Abbas, regarding Israel being a Jewish-democratic state, is a constitutive and significant statement that inspires hope that despite everything and nonetheless, those in the Arab sector who want to integrate into the country and join it will succeed.

There were, of course, the usual voices cracking in unison against the shard of hope expressed by Abbas.

Their cries and rage were louder than any other Carmel storm.

The shouts of unholy rage are those who express opposition to the peace agreements, the Abraham agreements, those who demand that we live on our sword, and that a life of war be our lot.

Mansour Abbas' important statement takes me back to 1980, when the Arab leadership in Israel was sober and realistic - a leadership that recognized Israel as a Jewish-democratic state.

This leadership grew out of power, understanding, recognition of reality and respect for the state and its symbols.

MK Saif a-Din al-Zoabi, from the United Arab Party, was the first in the sector to insist that Israeli Arabs must stand upright and be full partners in the Jewish state of Israel.

Abbas walks confidently and proudly on the path he has wisely, wisely and bravely cared for by leader Sif a-Din al-Zuabi.

A way of sober vision, a way of acceptance, a way that sows life out of respect, and not a way of the torments of the unending death, which have been paved and which Mansour's friends walk on to sobriety.

Like today, the professional quarrelsome and quarrelsome leaders called the Arab leadership in Israel "traitors," "collaborators," "anti-patriots."

They were thrown mud and slime, accused of being alienated from the Arab nation, and if they could - they would even prosecute the brave and respectable leadership for treason.

The serial opponents, those who opposed then and continue to oppose even today, are the stumbling block, the main barrier to the possibility of the integration of the Arab public in the State of Israel as equals.

We, who want to join hands with the citizens of the State of Israel, without sacrificing our national identity, out of respect for the symbols of the state and its laws, embrace Mansour Abbas and hope that he will influence the three members of his movement, RAAM, who will march with him

Abbas and his party are not my cup of tea, but at a time when common sense has prevailed over the fixation of blood and fire and plumes of smoke, the chairman of Ra'am deserves applause and the blessing that this enlightenment will be the beginning of a journey, not a one-time event.

My prayers to God in heaven that your words, Abbas, will be from the heart and faith, for these are the ways of truth.

Welcome, Abbas, to the train of sanity, to the Club of Logicists, the Seekers of Integration, the Demanders of Connections.
