Queen Elizabeth's Christmas address was more emotional than ever.

In it she remembered her late husband, Prince Philip.

But there were technical problems.

Update from December 25th, 2021, 5:00 p.m.:

On the afternoon of Christmas Day, the traditional speech by Queen Elizabeth II ran on all channels. In it, the 95-year-old monarch, as speculated in advance, is particularly emotional. She raves about her son Prince Charles and grandson Prince William and their wives Camilla and Kate with pride. Above all, however, she remembers her husband, Prince Philip. “His sense of service, his intellectual curiosity and his ability to find fun in all things were overwhelming,” she says. “And while my family and I miss him very much, I know he would want us to enjoy Christmas ”. It is a short, but very contemplative and beautifully written address.

The speech, which has been around since 1932, is likely to have been less contemplative for those who followed it live on the British royal family's YouTube channel.

Because there were clear audio problems to be heard during the transmission.

Instead of a royal Christmas atmosphere, there was a crackling and crackling in the background.

The audience of almost 20,000 people didn't seem too bothered.

"Sounds like Prince Philipp had a joke," joked a viewer in the broadcast's live chat.

Could be good.

Queen Elizabeth II: An emotional speech in honor of Prince Philips awaits

Palast insiders

now

report to the

Daily Mail in

advance: The address should be more emotional than ever.

She will pay a moving tribute to her "beloved" Prince Philip.

One thing is clear: During the speech, the Queen will wear the sapphire brooch that she wore on her honeymoon in 1947 and later for her diamond wedding in 2007. The Queen's speech was recorded before Christmas, so the palace was able to publish a picture of the Queen during her speech before it was broadcast. The sapphire-colored chrysanthemum brooch can be seen on it. Queen Elizabeth has always had a passion for sapphires. This comes from her father, who once noticed that cornflower blue gemstones - supposed to symbolize love, purity and wisdom - match the color of his daughter's eyes.

To the left of the photo is a picture of her and Prince Philip, taken in 2007 at the Broadlands manor in Hampshire for their diamond wedding.

That was where they had spent his honeymoon at the time.

British royal family announces service for Prince Philip

In addition, Buckingham Palace has already announced that there will be a thanksgiving service on the life of the Duke of Edinburgh in Westminster Abbey this spring.

Harry and Meghan should also be invited.

A date has not yet been set, also due to the spread of the coronavirus and the Omikron variant.

At a Christmas service, Kate and William were caught exchanging flirtatious glances.
