Schlager shock for Florian Silbereisen: ARD and MDR draw consequences

Bad news for all Schlager fans: ARD is now drawing conclusions from the current situation and that affects Florian Silbereisen and the "Schlagerchampions".

Leipzig - The Schlager world has many a familiar tradition that creates a good atmosphere every year and that the fans can rely on.

This is particularly the case in the TV landscape.

But the corona pandemic is also causing long faces here.

For example, Helene Fischer's * Christmas show in 2021 simply failed.

Now Florian Silbereisen * is also hit.

The hit year has started for years with Silbereisen's show * "Schlagerchampions" on ARD *.

This is where the stars are gathered and honored for the successes of the past year.

Silbereisen also awards the "One of the Best" award here.

But the Eurovision show will not take place in January 2022.

Schlager shocker: Florian Silbereisen's "Schlagerchampions" simply canceled

The MDR announced the cancellation of the TV show on December 23rd.

The reason is hardly surprising: the experts would warn of a fifth corona wave for January and Omikron should lead to new highs in the number of infections.

Politicians therefore advise reducing contacts as much as possible.

And it is precisely this request that ARD and MDR want to comply with.

“Against this background, we consider it unjustifiable to carry out this large show production in which many people are involved.

That is why we decided with a heavy heart to cancel the 'Schlagerchampions 2022' ”, says a statement published by the MDR.

With a view to the health of those involved and social responsibility, the decision was made to cancel large-scale production.

Silbereisen show canceled: But ARD delivers an exciting surprise

But then comes the absolute surprise: "The viewers can still look forward to a show with Florian Silbereisen on January 15, 2022 in ERSTEN."

Accordingly, on January 15, the new program: “Schlagerstart.2022 - Silbereisen goes!” Can be seen.

What exactly this show is about remains open for the time being.

But it seems clear that this will be an extremely slimmed-down production compared to the "Schlagerchampions *".
