Tölzer parcel driver escapes an accident

- A young parcel driver's first day alone on tour was very expensive. At a customer in Mittenwald, he is said to have damaged a rain gutter on a woodshed with his van. But instead of worrying about the damage caused, he drove away, says the prosecutor. Therefore, the young Tölzer (19) had to answer for unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident before the youth court at the Wolfratshausen district court. The proceedings were discontinued on payment of a monetary condition.
The defendant did not deny that he had delivered parcels at lunchtime on July 12 of this year in the street in Mittenwald.
However, he did not notice that he had hit the gutter.
“In any case, I didn't hear a bang.” The dents on his vehicle, which were documented by photos in the investigation file, came from an earlier accident, according to his boss.
Vehicle already has many scratches and dents
If there was any new damage, it was more likely to be on the rear of the van.
"The vehicle has a lot of scratches and dents, especially on the side," said the accused.
Juvenile judge Friederike Kirschstein-Freund signaled early on that she was inclined to discontinue the proceedings.
The prosecutor opposed this because there was an uninvolved witness who had testified to the police that the driver had driven forward against the roof.

"Above the windshield, that's specific information," said the prosecutor, who was considering getting an expert opinion.

In the end, the parties to the proceedings agreed on an attitude.
In return, the parcel driver has to pay a total of 480 euros to a non-profit association within six months.
In addition, he had already paid the repair costs for the woodshed in the amount of 360 euros out of pocket before the negotiation.
