Police arrested a 26-year-old man in Tel Aviv yesterday (Friday) on suspicion of assaulting several women while he was drunk last week. Today, the police will ask for an extension of his detention.
The investigation began with a report of an assault on a 55-year-old woman on Marmorek Street in the city.
The man allegedly assaulted the woman, with no prior acquaintance between the two.
Citizens who were at the scene assisted the complainant and detained the suspect until police arrived at the scene.
During the investigation, investigators from the Tel Aviv Heart Station were able to link the suspect to three more assault events of women across the city last week.
As stated, the suspect, a resident of Jerusalem, was arrested and brought for questioning at the police station.
Tonight, the suspect will be brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for a hearing on the extension of his detention.
