The General Organization of Civil Aviation clarified that the services of the halls of honor located at the international airports of Damascus and Aleppo are not mandatory for every passenger, and that the fees charged from those wishing to use this service upon entering the country or leaving are not new or mandatory as some promote.
The Director General of the Foundation, Engineer Basem Mansour, stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that the existing fees for the aforementioned service were applied before the years of the war on Syria, where the amount at that time was 5,000 Syrian pounds, and now it has been modified, while the cost of this service in the world’s airports reaches 500 dollars per person, stressing There is no truth to the news that is being circulated about the collection of hall fees from arriving or departing passengers, whether they stay using the halls or not, and that fees are charged in the equivalent in Syrian pounds.
He added, "The Ministry of Transport has set the fees for using the halls of honor at $60 per person for travellers and $30 per person for recipients and depositors, and these prices include arrivals and departures who use the halls of honor at the airports," pointing out that there is a service for businessmen's halls as well, which is independent of other halls at the Damascus and Aleppo airports. internationals.
Mansour indicated that the aforementioned allowances are collected in Syrian pounds from Syrian citizens and the like, according to the pricing issued by the Central Bank of Syria.
The services enjoyed by the users of the halls of honor include reception and hospitality, and securing the stamp of passports, bags, travel cards and escorts even outside the airport or to the stairs of the plane.
