Moscow-Sana
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that his country is interested in obtaining a response from the United States and NATO to its proposals on "security guarantees" as soon as possible.
"There are no specific deadlines for a US and NATO response," Peskov was quoted by TASS news agency as saying in a press statement. "We are interested in this and look forward to it as soon as possible."
It is noteworthy that the Russian Foreign Ministry distributed on the seventeenth of this month two draft Russian documents on “legal security guarantees” it had requested from the United States and NATO.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called NATO to start substantive negotiations with the aim of providing Russia with reliable and long-term security guarantees, explaining that documented legal guarantees are exactly what Moscow needs because the West has not fulfilled its verbal obligations.
