Damascus-SANA
Today, the Athar Developmental Foundation organized an entertainment event for a number of children in Yarmouk camp in Damascus, which included artistic performances, a theatrical performance and poems presented by the children. The volunteers of the Foundation drew on the faces of the children and distributed gifts to them.
The event comes within the campaign (Together We Can) launched by the Foundation last September in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the governorates of Damascus and its countryside, and the General Authority for Palestinian Refugees to support and facilitate the return of people to their homes in Yarmouk camp in Damascus.
In a statement to SANA, Director of Social Services in the Ministry, Hanadi Khemy, pointed out the importance of partnership between the public and private sectors to implement social activities that support different groups, including children psychologically, and develop their talents, stressing the importance of this to overcome the effects of the terrorist war on Syria, which affected various aspects of life.
In turn, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Athr Ibrahim Al-Khatib Foundation, explained that the Foundation allocated part of the campaign’s activities for children, including recreational, educational and awareness-raising activities, indicating that the campaign’s primary goal is to empower individuals through training, capacity building, providing professional skills, and establishing income-generating projects to create job opportunities for them.
A number of children's families noted the activities presented that showed their children's talents and the extent of their interaction in society, as Marwan Wehbe considered that this is an opportunity to draw a smile on the children's faces in an educational and psychological way.
It is noteworthy that the Athar Developmental Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in 2018 in the Governorate of Damascus Countryside.
