The authorities in Burkina Faso announced that the death toll from the attack carried out by terrorists last Thursday in the north of the country has risen to 41 people, both civilians and soldiers.
And the Agence France-Presse news agency quoted the government as saying in a statement: The mission to comb the area of the ambush set by terrorist groups against a convoy of homeland defense volunteers and civilians last Thursday found 41 bodies.
On the other hand, Burkina Faso President Roch Marc Christian Kabore declared two days of national mourning for the victims of the terrorist attack.
A previous toll had indicated that 22 people were killed in the aforementioned attack.
The number of armed attacks launched by groups linked to the terrorist organization “Al-Qaeda” and “ISIS” has increased recently in northern Burkina Faso, and these attacks have resulted in total killing about two thousand people and the displacement of 1.4 million others since 2015.
