Animal cruelty abuse:
Police arrested a 40-year-old Kiryat Yam resident yesterday (Saturday) on suspicion of severely abusing his dog.
Residents called the Haifa police station after noticing a man abusing his dog and she was howling loudly.
The police officers who arrived at the scene found the dog shaking, bruised and bleeding.
The owner, a 40-year-old resident of Kiryat Yam, was arrested for questioning on suspicion of aggravated animal abuse and the bitch was handed over to the municipal veterinarian for medical treatment.
At the end of his interrogation the suspect was released on restrictive conditions.
