A pink glow brushes the brown rock. At the end of the day, passers-by stop to admire the last rays of the sun caressing the needles of Chamonix. The show is like a miracle when the moon appears in the frame to tickle the peaks. No one can resist the urge to reach out to photograph the scene. Before the Covid, these suspended moments generated 3.8 million overnight stays each winter in this valley famous for its proximity to peaks that make the eyes of mountaineers around the world shine. The Brévent, the Flégère, the Drus, the Aiguille du Midi, the Goûter dome… And of course the one whose plump surface overlooks all the others: Mont Blanc. Chamonix was built under its protective aura. It is here, between the Aiguilles-Rouges massif and that of Mont-Blanc,at only 1,035 meters, the passion for the mountains was born.
