Ankara, SANA- The Turkish regime has dismissed 24,256 military personnel since the failed coup attempt that took place in July 2016.

The Turkish regime has dismissed 24,256 military personnel since the failed coup attempt that took place in July 2016.

Zaman newspaper quoted the Turkish Defense Ministry as saying that 9,360 soldiers were dismissed, with the approval of Defense Minister Hulusi Akar.

She explained that among the arbitrarily dismissed were 150 generals and 10,528 officers, in addition to 1,185 soldiers, and the administrative dismissal process is still ongoing against them.

Following the coup attempt, 130,000 civil servants and military personnel were dismissed on charges of belonging to the US-based opposition organization Fethullah Gulen, which Recep Tayyip Erdogan holds responsible for the coup attempt.
