The police and fire brigade had to move to the same place twice near the lake in Herrsching: A homeless person had set a caravan on fire.

Herrsching - the police and fire brigade had to move out to a caravan twice on Christmas days, which is located in Herrsching between the lake promenade and Keramikstraße. First, on Christmas Eve around 2:45 p.m., a witness noticed smoke coming out of the trailer. According to Commander Daniel Pleyer, the fire brigade was deployed with 28 men. They were able to put out the fire quickly and prevent it from spreading to a neighboring wooden hut. However, three quarters of the interior of the caravan was burned out, Pleyer reported.

A police patrol encountered a 62-year-old homeless man near the trailer. "He probably used the caravan to stay overnight and to warm up," said a police spokesman. The cause of the fire was "a switched on hob in the caravan". The police issued the 62-year-old man with a removal from the caravan - but the man did not adhere to it. One day later, on Christmas Day at around 10:45 a.m., witnesses discovered the 62-year-old again in the caravan. This time he had lit his own blanket in a pot to keep himself warm.

The fire brigade moved out again, this time with 20 men.

And the police were there again.

She now temporarily arrested the man.

“He was released from custody after all measures at the office and after consulting the Munich II public prosecutor's office,” said the spokesman.

The homeless are now facing several reports, including trespassing and property damage through arson.

The caravan uses the summer months via a surf instructor.

According to acquaintances, this is currently in Central American Honduras.

However, he was informed about the incident, they told Starnberg Mercury.

The insurance is switched on.
