A woman in her fifties was fatally struck by a vehicle whose driver did not stop in Béziers overnight from Saturday to Sunday, we learned from a police source and from the prosecution.

I confirm the death after percussion by a vehicle which fled and whose driver then lost control about 200 meters further by falling into a ditch,
" Béziers prosecutor Raphaël Balland told AFP.
Two men in the vehicle were arrested and taken into custody on charges of intentional homicide, he added.

At this stage "
the facts are still confused
" and the investigators are wondering about "
a possible voluntary act
", explained Raphaël Balland.
According to a police source, the two men had been asked to leave a restaurant following a brawl.
