The Palestinian Prisoners Club warned of the deterioration of the health of the prisoner with cancer, Abdel Baset Maatan, as a result of the arbitrary practices of the Israeli occupation authorities against him, especially the deliberate medical negligence.
Wafa news agency quoted the Prisoner’s Club as saying in a statement today: The occupation authorities have deliberately delayed providing the necessary treatment to the prisoner Maatan, which has recently worsened his health, calling on international organizations concerned with prisoners’ affairs to pressure the occupation to release him.
The Prisoner Club indicated that Maatan, who has been detained since the 25th of last October, underwent several surgeries before his arrest to remove the cancerous tumor from his intestines, but it was found that the cancerous cells did not end, and there are fears that the disease will spread in his body and the dangers threatening his life are great because he has recently begun to suffer from problems in his body. Breathing and chest pain.
It is noteworthy that Maatan is a former prisoner who spent about 9 years in the occupation prisons.
