Last week, the Likud's Supreme Court, headed by Michael Kleiner, overturned the sweeping disqualification of the "new Likudniks" and ordered thousands of functionaries to return to the party ranks until an individual examination of their membership was carried out.

The ruling was a blow to the policies of Netanyahu and his associates at the top of the Likud, who in recent years have waged a bitter struggle against the group.

The new Likudniks began organizing in 2011 and since then have added thousands of functionaries to the party, ostensibly to promote secular and liberal forces in the Likud.

But according to Netanyahu and other senior Likud figures, they are considered leftists and a fifth corps trying to take over the party from within.

Last year, the Likud administration sent thousands of new Likud members letters of cessation of membership and demands to fill out declarations of allegiance to the party and its values, but the court canceled the move last week.

"I will not endanger the Likud for a few votes in the primaries."

The day after the ruling, the new Likudniks petitioned the court again and asked for a restraining order to send the letters of disqualification again, which was indeed possible, but Netanyahu, Levin and Katz petitioned against the order and today stood up to argue their position.

"Six months ago, we saw something that was unbelievable - how people from the right, or ostensibly from the right, received votes from the right and transferred them to the left, in order to carry out a government coup with complete deception," Netanyahu said at the hearing.

"Now we see something even more amazing here. People want to do the same thing within the movement, enter the movement under the guise of a seemingly right-wing, and then bring in candidates or MKs, or subordinate MKs to a completely opposite leftist agenda of ours."

According to Levin, the new Likudniks sought to meet with him "countless times," including in recent days, and pledged to support him in the primaries for the party list.

"I was by no means ready," he said.

"They wanted to give me votes so that I could help them - but I am not willing to endanger the Likud and crush our party from within for a few votes in the primaries."

Suffered a severe attack for refusing to press the tribunal on the issue of the new Likudniks.

Simultaneously with the appearance of Netanyahu, Levin and Katz in court, the chairman of the Likud secretariat, Israel Katz, announced today that a committee headed by MK David Bitan will address the issue of the new Likudniks.

This, in accordance with a decision last week, which stipulated that a team would be set up to individually examine the thousands of functionaries.

Last week, Katz was severely attacked by Netanyahu for refusing to press the tribunal on the new Likudniks, along with other MKs who support or are supported by them. "Netanyahu wrote last week on social media." Everyone did it except Israel Katz, who to this day has acted and is doing the opposite. "
