Yvonne Catterfeld and Oliver Wnuk are no longer a couple - and have been a lot longer than expected.

However, the fans find touching words for the two of them.

Munich - They were officially a couple for 14 years, now Yvonne Catterfeld and Oliver Wnuk have announced their relationship on Instagram.

But what should probably irritate so many fans: The two have been separated a lot longer than you might think.

On Christmas Day they both posted the same photo with the same text underneath on their Instagram profiles.

It shows the singer and the actor huddled together, both smiling.

A Christmas tree should be visible in the background, and Yvonne Catterfeld is also wearing a Christmas hat.

At least at first glance it doesn't look like a typical breakup picture.

But the text quickly creates clarity.

"We spend Christmas together - but have not been lovers since this spring," writes Catterfeld under her post.

Neither of them had previously made any suggestion that they are no longer together.

She wonders why one usually speaks of the failure of a relationship when one could also say "that one had a wonderful time together," said the 42-year-old.

However, the ex-couple also announced in the post that they will not part ways in the future.

Their son Charlie was born seven years ago and he will continue to bond with them.

"The knowledge that - just because of our son - our paths will cross for a lifetime gives us a good feeling," writes the singer on Instagram.

Yvonne Catterfeld was a regular member of the jury for “The Voice of Germany” last year.

The two are suggesting that they would continue to see each other at Christmas.

After all, they celebrate the festival of love - "from now on just a little different," says the singer.

Both have deactivated the comment function under the statement.

However, very few people would have expected the end of their love - especially when you consider that Catterfeld and Wnuk have been separated for over half a year.

Because in September the actor posted a vacation picture of him and Catterfeld.

"14 years ago this woman - who cannot be described by words - walked into my life and today we still walk - our son by the hand - connected and smiling along the path," wrote Wnuk underneath and called the mother of his son "life beautifier" .

Although the post was published in September, the fans have now reacted to the breakup under Wnuks Post.
