In local politics it is like in life: the money is distributed unevenly.

While some communities can act financially worry-free thanks to potent trade taxpayers, others gnaw on starvation.

That is why there are key assignments.

The amount for the coming year has now been announced.

District

- Success has many fathers.

And when the Free State names the amount of key allocations, it is clear that the members of the state parliament of the two governing parties, Susann Enders (Free Voters) and Harald Kühn (CSU) both announce the good news in a press release.

Almost 22 million euros are promised

The Free State has promised a total of almost 22 million euros for the coming year to the communities that are financially not a bed of roses.

After all, that's a good two million euros more than last year.

In addition, there is another 22.4 million euros, which will be transferred directly to the accounts of the Weilheim-Schongau district.

District treasurer Norbert Merk, however, will have to cope with a minus of around 700,000 euros in grants from the state in the coming year.

"Maintaining the future viability of the municipalities"

“We have to maintain the investment capacity and thus the sustainability of our municipalities.

It is therefore an important signal that the municipal financial equalization will rise by 244.6 million euros to a record level of 10.56 billion euros in 2022, according to the draft of the state government, ”said Harald Kühn in his press release.

In addition, the Free State is granting the Bavarian municipalities - regardless of the federal government - a lump-sum compensation for trade tax income of up to 330 million euros for the year 2021 (see info box).

Compensation for business tax losses

The corona pandemic is poison for large parts of the economy. And if the economy is not doing well, the cities and the municipalities suffer shortly afterwards. Because trade taxes are an important source of income for them.

In order to compensate for the trade tax losses

, the Free State stepped in last year and reimbursed part of the missing income. This is how it will be done this year: "Bavaria compensates for around half of the shortfall in income from this year's trade tax and thus ensures stability in the municipal finances and maintains the investment power of our municipalities," explains

Harald Kühn

, Member of the

State Parliament

.

Last year the federal government contributed to the costs, but this time Berlin left the municipalities in the lurch. The Free State has therefore decided to compensate for at least part of the lost revenue on its own, said Kühn.

A total of 330 million euros are available for this

, 664 098 euros of which will go to the Weilheim-Schongau district. However, the money is not distributed to everyone according to the watering can principle, only some municipalities can look forward to the money from Munich:

Eglfing

(3732 euros),

Hohenfurch

(5716 euros),

Hohenpeißenberg

(54 385 euros),

Obersöchering

(32 798 euros),

Peißenberg

(121 395 euros),

Schongau

(89,329 euros),

Schwabbruck

(1,077 euros),

Schwabsoien

(28,375 euros),

Seeshaupt

(79,934 euros),

Weilheim

(207,830 euros) and

Wessobrunn

(19,527 euros).

You will now receive a discount and in 2022 the full amount to which you are entitled, Kühn continues.

(set)

If you take a closer look at who will be able to enjoy particularly high key assignments next year, you quickly see the “usual suspects”.

Most of the money goes to Peißenberg

Most of the money goes to Peißenberg (see table), although the market town by no means has the most inhabitants.

The district town of Weilheim receives the second highest grant with 3.8 million euros - even though a number of large and successful companies have settled there and pay heavy business taxes.

Schongau, on the other hand, does not get a euro key allocation, and Penzberg, who benefits year after year from Roche's trade tax payments, also has to get by with his money.
