Daraa, SANA- The Daraa City Council has launched a variety of community initiatives within the “Khadlak Nafs” project, which is related to rehabilitation works.

Daraa City Council launched a variety of community initiatives within the project (Khadlak Nafs) for the rehabilitation of the airport park in the center of Daraa city.

The initiatives varied between cultural by launching a library within the park entitled (My Book and Your Book) and artistic through the event (Your wisdom matters to me), which displays paintings made by women living in the airport neighborhood and neighboring neighborhoods.

The supervisor of the airport park rehabilitation works from Daraa City Council, Sana al-Masalmah, said in a statement to SANA reporter today that the library includes a collection of books, novels and stories, stressing that the goal is to activate the cultural aspect and return people to the book instead of social media.

She added that the city council tried, through the "Your wisdom is important to me" event, to strengthen relations between the women living in the neighborhood and to engage them in matters that would enhance the state of community cohesion.

The project to rehabilitate the airport park, supported by the United Nations Development Program, includes equipping a theater with sessions, pouring corridors, placing metal chairs, maintaining the fence, sidewalk, sea and its surroundings, cleaning, planting and pruning existing trees, in addition to beautification and coloring works to be used in theatrical activities and artistic and sculptural gatherings.
