By the name of Valentina Orellana-Peralta, the 14-year-old teenager who died Thursday in a California store when police fired on a suspected assault was identified, the Office of the Police reported to CNN on Sunday. Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

Orellana-Peralta's manner of death is classified as homicide and his cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the coroner's records.

The teenager was shot while in a dressing room with her mother at a Burlington, North Hollywood store, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said.

One of the shots went through a wall and hit the young woman, LAPD Deputy Chief Dominic Choi said at a news conference Thursday.

"Preliminarily, we believe that the discharge was from an agent," said Choi.

The man suspected of a previous attack at the store was also killed by police, Choi said.

A steel or metal padlock was found near the man, and investigators believe that had to do with the attack on a woman, he said.

No firearm was recovered at the scene.

The LAPD plans to release body camera recordings, 911 calls, radio transmissions and other evidence related to the shooting on Monday, Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore reported last week.

"This chaotic incident that resulted in the death of an innocent young woman is tragic and devastating for all those involved. I deeply regret the loss of this young woman's life and I know that no words can ease the unimaginable pain for the family," said the last week.

Officers responded to a "possible ongoing shooting"

According to the timeline provided by Los Angeles Police, North Hollywood Police officers responded to a radio call, at 11:45 a.m., for an assault with a deadly weapon in progress at a Burlington store in Victory Boulevard.

While on the way, they received multiple calls about a "possible ongoing shooting" and people took refuge at the scene, the LAPD said.

Upon arrival, the officers found a woman who was bleeding and suffering various injuries.

Officers then encountered a man suspected of the assault a short distance away and shot him, the statement said.

He was shot and pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Later, officers found a hole in the wall behind the man, which turned out to be a locker room.

Inside, the agents found a 14-year-old adolescent who was hit by shots and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the police.

The female victim of the assault was taken to a local hospital with head and arm injuries, according to police.

The Police do not believe that there is any relationship between the three people.

In accordance with state law, the California Department of Justice is investigating the shooting involving officers, Attorney General Rob Bonta said in a statement.

CNN's Topher Gauk-Roger and Andy Rose contributed to this report.
