It's the duel of the disappointed: The WWK Volleys Herrsching compete in Königs Wusterhausen on Tuesday evening.

Both teams have been without a win for five games.

Herrsching

- The WWK Volleys Herrsching only had a two-day Christmas break. Already on Tuesday evening and 6 p.m. (live on sportdeutschland.tv) there will be a Bundesliga duel of the disappointed at Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen. While the Ammerseers added another dramatic chapter to their cup history last Wednesday with their 3-2 defeat in Lüneburg (fifth defeat in the fifth semifinals), at the same time the Brandenburgers clearly lost the league catch-up game at United Volleys Frankfurt with 0 : 3. For the team of coach Tomasz Wasilkowski it was the fifth league defeat in a row.

But the balance sheet of the WWK Volleys Herrsching doesn't read much better either. If you include the cup game, Herrschinger have also been waiting for a win for five games. Both celebrated their last sense of achievement against the bottom tier TSV Haching Munich. The Netzhoppers victory dates from November 4th. After that, the fringe Berliners did not play a game for 23 days due to the corona. Some volleyball players were infected with the corona virus, and some had to be quarantined. In the meantime, all those involved have recovered. Nevertheless, the Polish Netzhoppers coach Wasilkowski will probably have to do without Dirk Westphal (shoulder problems) and Brandon Rattray (adductor problems) against Herrsching. Incidentally, there has not yet been a single corona case in the Herrschingen team, as Fritz Frömming emphasizes.“We have a vaccination rate of 100 percent in the team,” says the manager, not entirely without pride.

In the remaining three games in the main round (on January 6th and 8th it is still against Haching and Frankfurt) it is now important to get into the best possible starting position for the intermediate round starting on January 22nd. In group A the best four teams from the main round (Berlin, Düren, Frankfurt and Friedrichshafen) will play, in group B the teams in places five to eight (Lüneburg, Königs Wusterhausen, Giesen and Herrsching). The placement at the end of the main round is not entirely unimportant, as you take a bonus of nine, six or three points into the second round. For example, if the Herrschinger go into the second round in eighth place, they would be nine points behind the fifth before the first game. And to catch up in six games is almost impossible.In view of the rest of the program, sixth place should be the minimum goal. The Hauser crew currently ranks on this, with the Netzhoppers lurking eighth, three points behind. They also have a catch-up game against Haching up their sleeves.

For the second round, Jordi Ramon Ferragut should be there again.

The Spanish outside attacker is already back in team training.

The Spaniard already indicated that he can be a real reinforcement in acceptance and attack.
