Munich - The people in Bavaria have to be prepared for tougher measures to contain the pandemic - and that already before New Year's Eve.

From tomorrow, Tuesday, December 28th, new corona rules will apply in Bavaria.

Corona rules in Bavaria: New contact restrictions from December 28th

  • There

is a maximum number of people

    for

    private meetings

outside of the catering trade. Starting tomorrow, a

    maximum of ten people

    will be allowed to come

together inside and outside. It doesn't matter whether people are vaccinated or have recovered. Unvaccinated people are still only allowed to meet with their own household and a maximum of two other people. So as soon as an unvaccinated person is there, the contact restrictions for unvaccinated people apply. 2G plus is mandatory for private meetings in the catering industry. Those who have recovered and who have been vaccinated also need a current negative corona test.

  • There

    are no contact restrictions

    for

children under the age of 14

    .

This time it is a matter of relaxation.

Because so far only children up to twelve years and three months have been exempted from the contact restrictions in Bavaria.

The Bavarian government would like to remain uniform nationwide this time.

The age limit of 14 years will also apply to the 2G Plus and 2G requirements from tomorrow.

  • The previous

    ban on dance events

    is being expanded.

As of tomorrow, dance events outside of clubs and discotheques are also prohibited - unless it is a sporting activity.

  • For large

    national cultural events

    and comparable events, a

    spectator

ban will apply in the future

    .

So far, this measure has only applied to national sporting events.

Since then, there have been ghost games for the Bundesliga.

We absolutely have to avoid that in order not to burden the clinics even further, ”said a spokeswoman for the Bavarian Ministry of Health.

Bavaria: Surprising corona easing on New Year's Eve

But there is also a relaxation of the corona measures on New Year's Eve in order to be able to celebrate New Year's Eve at least in a small circle in the catering trade.

The New Year celebrations in restaurants do not have to end two hours before midnight, as was previously the case.

You could now "meet longer," said Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) after the cabinet meeting on December 14th.
