German weather service with warning for parts of Bavaria - dangerous night is imminent

With a white Christmas there was nothing in the south of the Free State.
The German Weather Service warns of dangerous black ice in northern Bavaria.
Update from December 26th, 9:07 p.m .:

As the DWD had already announced (see previous update), there is now a storm warning in northern Bavaria.
There is a warning of black ice in large parts of Lower and Upper Franconia until 6 a.m. in the morning.
“There are severe disabilities in road and rail traffic.
Avoid Driving!
Stay in the house! ”Wrote the DWD in its official warning.
Update from December 26th, 1:47 p.m.:
The weather was mostly
cloudy
and gray over the holidays in Bavaria.
Much will not change in the coming days, but it can be dangerous in parts of the Free State.
The German Weather Service has issued a storm warning of black ice.
Central Germany is particularly affected, but so is the far north of Bavaria.
The DWD writes in the wording:
Weather in Bavaria: Severe weather warning - German weather service warns in parts of Bavaria
“On Sunday evening and on Monday night, black ice due to freezing rain or drizzle must be expected. This can lead to increased ice build-up on the roadways, sidewalks and on objects, as well as sometimes considerable obstructions in road and rail traffic. In the course of the morning on Monday, the situation gradually eased. "
The severe weather warning is valid from Sunday, December 26th, 6 p.m. to Monday, 10 a.m.
The extreme north of Bavaria is affected, as can be seen from the map of the weather service:

First report from December 25, 2021:
Munich - Christmas Eve is over and anyone who took a Christmas walk on the Isar after the presents were given, got really wet without an umbrella.
It was nothing this year with the white Christmas south of the Danube.
And on the holidays, too, nothing changes in the view from the window.
In the north of Bavaria, on the other hand, people had a good laugh.
It snows here until Sunday.

Weather in Bavaria: Danger when rain hits icy roads
If you look at the weather map for Bavaria at the German Weather Service (DWD), then there is a border running through the middle of the Free State.
Father Frost rules above this air mass wall.
Here the DWD warns of slipperiness, frost and snowfall.
Below the border, there is lousy Christmas weather with rain and temperatures that are far too mild for the time of year.
And speaking of temperatures - the difference between the values in the north and south is over ten degrees.
The weather service reports for Hof for Saturday, December 25th, minus one degree.
At the edge of the Alps, ten degrees are sometimes possible.
In Munich, the thermometer climbs to nine degrees during the day.
Winter prevails in the north of Bavaria.
The south only gets rain.

In the night on Boxing Day, little changes in the weather.
In the north, flakes still fall from the sky here and there.
In the south and especially in the Isar metropolis, it can continue to rain all night, according to the forecast from

The values in Munich go down to two degrees, while in the north of Upper Franconia it can be minus seven degrees.
This mixed weather situation is particularly dangerous for the residents of the border region.
When the temperatures drop and the precipitation hits the frozen roads, black ice can occur very quickly.
So better off the gas here.
Weather in Munich: continuous rain until the turn of the year
The next few days until New Year's Eve bring little variety to the cloudy gray in the south.
The only bright spot is Monday.
Here in almost all of Bavaria, the sun dares to come out from time to time.
It remains mild at four to seven degrees.
Only in the north do the clouds keep and it stays fresh at two degrees in Hof.
In the course of the week, the temperatures continue to rise and the rain showers become more frequent and intense again.
December and the year 2021 are anything but winter goodbye.
