Tonight (Tuesday), Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced an isolation policy, in which vaccinated people who are exposed to verified corona will not be required for isolation, but only for a negative examination.

In contrast, those who are defined as unvaccinated will be required to enter isolation.

"The new rules are simple and universal and apply to everyone," the prime minister said in a briefing to reporters. "In a sweeping way, no matter if it is a child, a parent or an adult: everyone has the same law."

According to the Prime Minister, the move came with the aim of protecting the unvaccinated.

"We tell people who are vaccinated: go on with your life, be careful with vulnerable people, but for people who are not vaccinated you are at increased risk so we want you to be more protected during this time."

Bennett explained the turnaround in policy by saying that "we understood that if we continued with the current isolationist policy, de facto there would be a national closure, because we would be in a state of one or two million people in isolation, and non-disposable isolation, which is not a desirable situation for us."

The Prime Minister clarified that the goal is to continue the functioning of the economy. "The state is doing a lot. We were the first in the booster, in closing to foreigners, in the fourth vaccine. The first stage was a policy of blocking through the closure of the sky, then a policy of delay through the chain cutting and isolation system, and now we are defending the Omicron program." He added that he is watching a steep wave. "This wave will last a little less time than the previous waves but it will take time and if we use the image of a storm - we allowed everyone to wear a storm suit, ie get vaccinated. Those who do not - prefer to stay as long as possible at home. Those who do not protect their children endanger their children." .

Bennett is troubled by an outbreak in children, as the government sees a significant increase in child hospitalizations in London and New York.

"This policy will not prevent a significant increase in infection, it will help to roll out a bit. Even in primary schools in the early stages, a class with a verified child, unvaccinated children will have to approach isolation. Expect citizens' personal responsibility, they have a responsibility to protect themselves and children."

The prime minister believes Pfizer's drugs against Corona will be dramatic and effective, in relation to reducing the morbidity, if given in time.

The Medicines Constitution has no intention of distinguishing between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated.

"The drugs will land in Israel tomorrow and I think we will be the first in the world to receive boxes of drugs."
