The municipality of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn is faced with a dilemma: As Herbert Reisnecker (SPD) noted in the local council, some citizens would like snow to be cleared on the Kirchenweg in winter.

As Mayor Mindy Konwitschny (SPD) said, this would lead to an outcry among others.

n - The path that leads from the train station to the Leonhardikirche is also used by families whose children want to go tobogganing on the hill behind the church.

"We'd have to see if we could manage that," said the mayor.

Because the clearing of the path would have to be done by the building yard employees, who would have to take care of other areas at the same time when it snowed.

But clearing snow there is also “a double-edged sword” because, in the right weather, many toboggan riders are out and about on Kirchenweg.

Therefore one might have to think about a partial evacuation, so Konwitschny.

Ice hazard

Reisnecker, on the other hand, pointed out that if the weather is right, ice will also form on the way and there is then a risk that walkers and cyclists will slip.

Maybe you just have to sprinkle there if it gets really slippery, suggested the mayor.

"But then things get difficult again with the sledges," she added in the aftermath.

Norbert Mayer (UB), himself a grandfather, advocated not to clear the way.

Only there you can still pull the grandchildren with the sledge, he emphasized.

During this time, cyclists simply have to drive “around the outside”.

Konwitschny promised to think about a security concept.

Gudrun Hackl-Stoll (Greens) suggested using a sign to draw the citizens' attention to the fact that the path will not be cleared because it is the entrance to the Schlittenberg.
