During a meeting of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee about two weeks ago, Ganz addressed the need for civic and economic measures to build trust with the Palestinian Authority.
Ganz updated that there are steps that have already been completed such as recognizing a population register of the unidentified and increasing the number of workers and facilitating the licensing of factories, and that there are additional steps that are in the process of being worked on.
Gantz stressed at the same meeting that one of the lessons learned from Operation Wall Guard was that the stronger the Palestinian Authority, the weaker Hamas would be.
He said that in his view, Israel has an interest in improving the Palestinian economy and maintaining contact with the various representatives of the Palestinian Authority.
