Infection with the omicron strain apparently produces immunity against other strains of the corona virus, including the Delta variant, according to a study published today (Tuesday) by the University of Washington in Seattle.
The study was shared by Prof. Eran Segal of the Weizmann Institute, who advises the Cabinet of Experts.
"The large number of Omicron infections expected in Israel and around the world may significantly increase the level of immunity of the entire population and help eradicate Delta and at least some of the other variants," Segal wrote on Twitter, quoting the same study.
