The efforts of the Ministry of Water Resources during the year 2021 focused on rehabilitating irrigation projects and putting them into service, in addition to preparing and investing a number of wells and implementing a number of projects to improve the reality of drinking water and develop the sewage system.

In the field of land reclamation, the ministry has put into service a project to rehabilitate 3000 hectares of the southern Aleppo plains at a cost of 3.5 billion Syrian pounds, where the economic return from its investment is estimated at 20 billion pounds, in addition to the rehabilitation of three main engines and an auxiliary engine in the project of Al-Assad facility in Maskana, which feeds an area of ​​18 thousand hectares In addition to rehabilitating the waterfall facility and securing the water needs for housing projects west and east of the al-Assad facility on an area of ​​50,557 hectares, according to the crops mentioned in the agricultural plan.

In Deir ez-Zor governorate, the water needs of the projects of the third and fifth sectors were secured on an area of ​​14,470 hectares, according to the crops mentioned in the agricultural plan, in addition to the rehabilitation of the seventh sector pumping stations, which irrigate an area of ​​7,582 hectares.

In Raqqa Governorate, the General Organization for Land Reclamation, in partnership with international organizations, is undertaking a partial rehabilitation of irrigation networks, isolating drains and gates, and covering dirt channels in the Middle Euphrates Irrigation Project.

In the field of dams and dams, the Public Authority for Water Resources continued the implementation of a number of projects, in addition to the maintenance of some dams and dams, irrigation networks and pumping stations, in addition to completing the additional storage basin of Al-Sin Spring and isolating rivers.

The commission put the first pumping station in the Adra treatment station in Damascus countryside into service after its rehabilitation to irrigate more than 9 thousand hectares of the lands of Eastern Ghouta. In Hama, the Bisireen pumping station, the main canal and secondary channels in the Homs irrigation network were rehabilitated.. Hama, which allowed the investment of 7500 hectares of land. In addition to the rehabilitation of part of the two channels G1 and G2 within the reclamation projects in Al-Ghab to contribute to the irrigation of lands and the implementation of the hydraulic link project between Salhab Dam and the southern irrigation canal in the Tar Al-Ula-Asharnah irrigation network to contribute to the irrigation of an area of ​​5,000 hectares at the end of the network.

The Bariqa pumping station in Quneitra was rehabilitated and put into service to irrigate 109 hectares of land, in addition to irrigating about 2,000 hectares through irrigation networks on dams and springs, while about 30,000 hectares of agricultural land was irrigated in Daraa.

In the field of improving the water situation for citizens, two desalination plants were equipped and invested in Ain Tarma and Hamouriyeh in the countryside of Damascus, and several solar energy projects were implemented for a group of wells and secured exits exempt from electrical rationing.

In Hama, the third and fourth phases of the second water line from the upper Orontes River were implemented, a line and a pumping room were implemented for the units of Maharda, Salhab and Berri Al Sharqi, and pumping and liquefaction lines were implemented in the city.

In Daraa, pumping stations were rehabilitated in Al-Hara, Al-Juwaima and Nasiriyah, and the Al-Thawra project in its fifth phase was completed to feed the northern countryside of the province. In Aleppo, the Abu Asfaita pumping station was equipped, the Assan, Kafr Hamra and Haritan Al-Haramis pumping stations were rehabilitated, and seven high tanks were rebuilt.

In Homs, a project to support the water of the village of Al-Bureij has been put into service with the aim of improving the irrigation situation for the people there, equipping the Kafaraya and Jobar stations, and rehabilitating the Ain Al-Danair water pumping station, while in Al-Hasakah, several projects were implemented, including the re-maintenance of the Allouk station, which included the maintenance of 25 submersibles and the installation of 300 tanks in the streets Al-Hasakah and filling it with tanks during the periods of stopping the Allouk plant and installing 16 desalination plants.

In Tartous, two axial wells in Banias were put into service, the Beit al-Quleih well was invested, and horizontal pumping sets were installed and modernized, and pumping lines were implemented. In Idlib, two horizontal pumping groups were installed and put into service, a horizontal pumping group and a solar energy system were installed, and the water hammer was maintained at the Tel Aas water station.

In Deir ez-Zor, the water stations of Albukamal, Al-Mayadin, Al-Sial Al-Gharbi, Al-Salihiya, Hasrat, Subikhan expansion and Al-Qureya were maintained and rehabilitated. In Raqqa, the Shanan water pumping line was implemented and water pumping lines were replaced in the communities of Al-Buhamad, Al-Ghanim Al-Ali and Al-Zawiya villages.

In Lattakia, the drinking water system was supported from the Tishreen 16 Dam, and the second phase of the replacements of the traction line was implemented, in addition to the rehabilitation of the Shir water station from the Irwa Al-Haffah axis, the rehabilitation of the Joz fields spring, and the implementation of the pumping line from the Eidiya tank to the Sakhaba station.

In the Quneitra governorate, several projects were implemented in the governorate and the communities of displaced people in the Damascus countryside, digging 11 wells and preparing 14 wells, in addition to replacing 10 submersible pumps for wells operating in different sectors, while in the Suwayda governorate, drilling and covering wells were carried out, water lines works in the city and the countryside, and water lines works were implemented to connect Al-Alaika wells 1 and 2 with the pumping station at the site of well 3.

In the field of sewage, the implementation of Masyaf sewage treatment plants in Hama and Jabab in Daraa, Hama and Jamraya in Damascus countryside, Qlea’a al-Dalba in Tartous and Abu Houri.. al-Fadiliya.. al-Shayrat in Homs was followed up, in addition to following up on the implementation of more than 14 sewage estuaries in the western countryside of Hama and 7 in Quneitra and an estuary. Protection of the Drakeish Dam in Tartous and sewage outfalls for three projects in Daraa, with the implementation of a number of lines in all governorates.
