Sauerlach - The sports home of SV Arget is in a desolate condition, which is now causing trouble.

During an action in the Sauerlach local council, attention was drawn to the grievance.

A roof that resembles a patchwork quilt, too few cubicles for the athletes and sanitary facilities for which one should be ashamed - two mothers recently expressed devastating criticism in the Sauerlach municipal council.

This applied to the condition of the SV Arget sports center, but also to the slow progress in the implementation of the community's sports facility concept.

The two sports clubs SV Arget and TSV Sauerlach had already approached the community together in summer 2020.

They had compiled the respective needs of the clubs and presented them to the local councils in a special meeting.

Even then, it was clear to the clubs that the desolate condition of the Argeter sports home was no longer acceptable and that there was a lack of additional sports facilities and an artificial turf pitch.

The new sports officer Babak Afshar (SPD) announced his support.

Work out key points for the sports concept

It took until February 2021 for the municipal councils to come to a goal-oriented decision based on an application from Afshar and Rupert Feistbauer (UBV) and the CSU parliamentary group: The administration was commissioned to work out key points for the sports concept for external planning services.

“Future population developments should also be included,” said Jeanette Schaffert, head of the building department, when asked.

For this, only planning costs are given in the current budget year.

However, it is ultimately up to the municipal councils to decide whether the facilities should be re-planned or renovated.

At least costs of up to 10 million euros are estimated in the budget for the sports facility concept for the next few years.

Signatures for SV Arget's sports home

In the meantime, the topic became quiet again. Too calm, if some parents of the SV children have their way. With a list of 200 signatures, two mothers were represented in front of Mayor Barbara Bogner and expressed their displeasure in the committee, because in the summer the SV organized a big soccer camp, to which numerous children from all over the municipality had come.

"We were shocked about the conditions in the sports home," said one mother.

Cleaning in the sanitary facilities would not help for a long time to make them attractive, and the changing rooms would also be an impertinence.

Michael Hohenleitner (CSU) confirmed this: "Even when I was still actively playing football myself, there were unpleasant situations." Due to a lack of space, the children often had to change clothes with the adults and boys and girls together in a cubicle.

Additionally in Halle am Otterloher Feld

The club is now also reaching its limits in being able to properly offer its extensive range of sports, because the influx of people into the community and thus the number of registrations in the club is steadily increasing.

The capacities in the sports center were no longer sufficient for this.

The distribution of the additional football training times in the multi-purpose hall at Otterloher Feld is also too little, because there they in turn collide with the times for the athletes at TSV Sauerlach.

“When will something finally happen?” Was the emotional question a mother asked the mayor.

Markus Hoffmann (CSU) also criticized the alleged standstill in terms of the sports facility concept: "That was many months ago, does such a decision not count or what?"

City hall fire in Sauerlach changed plans

Criticism that Bogner did not want to stand, especially since the building authority manager Schaffert was not personally present at the meeting. According to Bogner, the big town hall fire in particular would have set all plans back by half a year. She also felt it was important that something changed in the current situation, "but unfortunately we also have other priorities". When asked, Schaffert stated that it should be clear by mid-2022 to what extent the site should be changed. According to Bogner, open space planning has currently been commissioned.

The sports officer Afshar stated that two architecture firms were currently shortlisted for this.

It is important that maintenance measures are carried out on the existing systems until they are implemented, so that they can continue to be used until a new construction is possible.

At the end of the day, the children presented the mayoress with a gingerbread heart together with the signature lists to emphasize their affair of the heart.
