Berlin - The old year is slowly coming to an end, Christmas is over and 2022 is already in the starting blocks: New Year's Eve is just around the corner and, like every year, will be celebrated.

In the ZDF New Year's Eve show "Willkommen 2022", Andrea Kiewel and Johannes B. Kerner traditionally slide into the New Year with their guests and welcome national and international guests.

On Friday, December 31, 2021, the moderators will ring in the big party from 8.15 p.m. live from the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.

ZDF: New Year's Eve show with musical highlights

Germany's largest New Year's Eve show "Willkommen 2022" wants to start the new year with the who's who of the celebrity world.

Among others, singer Adel Tawil, star DJ Alle Farben, the duo Glasperlenspiel, Tom Beck, Dieter Hallervorden and Marianne Rosenberg will appear on stage.

But also stars like Bonnie Tyler, Art Garfunkel jr.

and the singer-songwriter Kelvin Jones should put the audience in a celebratory mood.

Due to the corona pandemic, there will be no audience on site, which is why some acts will not perform on site.

The ZDF is therefore promising exclusive insights into the private four walls of some well-known people by switching live.

According to information from the dpa, the New Year's Eve show will be implemented as a television production without a live audience "to protect everyone involved," the organizer announced to Silvester in Berlin.

Stricter rules have recently come into effect in Germany again.

Contact restrictions and a firecracker ban are intended to prevent overloading of the health system on and after New Year's Eve.

In order to bring some light shine into German households, fireworks are planned on the stage at the Brandenburg Gate, as a spokeswoman for the organizer announced.

"The traditional high-altitude fireworks will be dropped this year".

All of this takes place under the motto “Celebrate at the Gate”.

ZDF with a special guest: Health Minister Karl Lauterbach shows his living room

One of these living rooms will be that of Karl Lauterbach (SPD).

For the first time, the newly appointed Minister of Health appears on the broadcaster's big New Year's Eve show and is supposed to give unusual insights into his private life.

In addition to Lauterbach, other celebrities will also join the show live - such as Bill and Tom Kaulitz from the band Tokyo Hotel.

New Year's Eve shows on ZDF: the station starts with a concert from the Semperoper

Party-loving people who want to celebrate the New Year before the big New Year's Eve show at the Brandenburg Gate should get their money's worth from 5:25 p.m.

ZDF starts with the “New Year's Eve concert from the Semperoper - from Berlin to Broadway”, which is followed by Olaf Scholz at 7.15 p.m. with his premiere at the “New Year's Address by the Federal Chancellor”.

From 7:25 p.m., Fabian Köster and Lutz van der Horst will review the funniest moments of 2021 in the comedy annual review.

Andrea Kiewel and Johannes B. Kerner will take over the last ZDF show of the year and welcome the next 365 days for almost four hours.

In Germany, tougher corona measures apply again before New Year's Eve, some rules need to be observed.
