Schliersee - The Schliersee construction committee has now dealt with an application on how the Valepp forester's house could be developed.

The vote was clear.

At the most recent meeting of the Schliersee building committee, an application for a preliminary decision for the project development of the entire Forsthaus Valepp ensemble was submitted. This was provided by a local who is one of those interested parties who can imagine taking over the forester's house from the Bavarian State Forests on a long lease. In principle, it should be clarified whether a building project of the requested extent would get the consent of the municipality there.

"It is very sad that the forester's house Valepp has not been operated for many years," regretted Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer.

The forester's house is not only an outstanding monument for him.

“In addition to the Lower Monument Protection Authority, the State Office for Monument Protection is also involved,” he explained.

“A forester's house of this size, quality and building history is something very special.” Schnitzenbaumer thinks that what is planned according to the application is appropriate.

He likes the fact that the dilapidated outbuildings are also to be refurbished in a second construction phase.

According to the mayor, the size can be discussed, but he is sure that anyone who wants to do business with the forester's house will have to expand.

The ensemble is currently owned by the Free State of Bavaria.

He understands that the forest companies, as owners, get pressure from higher authorities to act economically, "but as it is now planned, the building will no longer belong to the Free State - for the next 99 years." The Valepp forester's house would then be over Generations in private ownership.

Schliersee's Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer would like to seek the conversation again with regard to the forester's house Valepp in order to keep the building as a monument in the property of the Free State of Bavaria, as he said at the most recent meeting of the building committee.

He had tried that before, "but you probably didn't want to hear that," as he said.

One should not forget, however, that in the past few years the forest companies and the community have repeatedly spoken to breweries and investors, but nobody has been interested in the remote property.

Committee member Wolfgang Mundel (CSU) criticized the size of the outbuilding in the immediate vicinity of the beautiful, listed forester's house and expressed concerns that it could be spoiled by it.

The kitchen with the bar and food counter will be located in the outbuilding.

For the second mayor Peter Sprenger (Die Schlierseer) one thing is certain: If the monument protection accompanies the project, then he has no concerns.

"We have also added our local museum and it has become beautiful," he emphasized.

In order to run the forester's house economically, you need space.

It would be more important to him to oblige the operator to also serve day guests.

Gerhard Waas (Greens) was also happy that the monument protection should accompany the project.
