District - First of all: 2021 was a strange, unusual sports year. The corona pandemic was to blame for the fact that after a season 2019/21 that was canceled in autumn 2020, the amateur footballers could not start playing again until summer 2021 after a game-free spring. Championships, promotions and relegations were decided on the basis of point quotients. Not every club was happy about this (unfortunately necessary) solution. Spontaneous jubilation on the pitch about the jump into the next higher class was canceled this sports year.

The news of the year came in April.

Julian Nagelsmann

from Issing is the new coach of FC Bayern Munich. At 34, Nagelsmann is Bayern’s third youngest coach after Reinhard Saftig (30) and Sören Lerby (33). On December 11th, the native Landsberger also became the youngest Bundesliga coach with 100 wins.

The football amateurs in the Landsberg district were also able to celebrate. For example in Denklingen, where VfL managed direct promotion to the district league. Here the team of coach

Markus Ansorge plays

an outstanding role and can

even dream of marching through to the national league

thanks to the 19 goals this season by

Simon "Simba" Ried

as leader of the table. The 2-0 win against Aubing was the last game in the venerable “Waldstadion”, and in future

VfL Denklingen will play

its games in the new club and community center.

With a 2-0 win against Aubing, the regional league leaders VfL Denklingen said goodbye to the venerable Waldstadion at the end of October and were celebrated one last time in front of the slope of their sports home: in front of around 400 fans.

Not only Denklingen (in the Upper Bavaria Group), but also

VfL Kaufering

(Swabia Group) is top.

After an outstanding preliminary round and a small hitch at the end, the first national league appearance in Kauferinger football history

could well become a reality for

coach

Ben Enthart's team

in the summer.

In addition to Denklingen,

TSV Utting

was also able to

celebrate a rise - even a "historic" one. After 45 years, the Ammersee-Elf is back in the district league ("old" A-class). The father of the best year in the club's history was coach

Peter Bootz

, who put TSV on the road to success. Utting went into the winter break as third in the table and “fourth force” behind Landsberg, Denklingen and Kaufering - a great success for the newcomer to the league, whom

SV Unterdießen could keep company with

next season. As the leader of the table, the SVU steers towards the district league course.

A-classic

MTV Dießen was also

the

first to say goodbye to

the new year.

The foundation stone was laid in 2021 for the major goal of “advancement to the district class”.

Great thing: player trainer

Philipp Ropers

was allowed to wear the German national jersey again in the hall.

The 28-year-old played his number three and four international futsal games against Wales.

Dießen again: This is where a great football career came to an end on July 31st,

Steffi Köhler

(formerly Wild) said hello after 96 national and 22 Bavarian league games for MTV at the age of 27 as part of the 50 years of women's football celebration.

Now the former second division player is looking forward to the next generation.

Your former team is fighting in the national league despite good performances to stay up.

Draw kings

Let's take a look further up, in the Bayern League. As has

TSV Landsberg

taken an unusual path. With returnees

Muriz Salermovic

and

Mike Hutte-rer

two players coach call the shots. With 6th place in the winter table and 34 points after 22 games, the result is decent so far, but there is still room for improvement. The Lechstadt-based company has at least secured one title: With ten draws, they are the Bayern League "Draw Kings" in 2021. Of course, a title that doesn't bring anything - except for too few points ...

Even further up, much further, in the women's Bundesliga.

Little Pürgen has been the “master community” since June. Because

Sydney Lohmann

(21), who comes from Pürgen, secured

the German women's championship

with

FC Bayern Munich

- the fourth in the club's history.

And the first for your home church.

Bad luck for the national player: After a hip operation, the midfielder has had to take a break since the beginning of October.

The comeback is planned for the new year.

Without a regular seat

And now it goes even further up, to an EM.

Florian Neuhaus

, who plays for

Borussia Mönchengladbach

in the Bundesliga, was the first Kauferinger at a European football championship. But only as a spectator: The midfielder was part of the German team's squad in all four games, but in the end there were zero minutes played. A great honor for him and for Kaufering: In July, the national player signed the Golden Book of his home community and received the Kaufering Sportsman Award. In the last months of the year Neuhaus, previously set in Gladbach, no longer went as desired: Under new coach Adi Hütter, he surprisingly lost his regular place.

Football worked up, now a look at the other sports. A Landsberg figurehead is motorcycle professional

Marcel Schrötter

, the only district athlete who competes in a World Cup series. In 2021, things didn't go as usual for the ambitious Moto2 rider in the 18 races. For the first time he failed to make it onto the podium; 5th place on May 30th in Mugello (Italy) was his best result. In the overall standings, the man from Pflugdorfer landed in 10th place. In 2022, the number 23 for the Memmingen Liqui Moly Intact GP team will also be driving.

Once a whipping boy, always a whipping boy - that could be the motto of the ice hockey players at

HC Landsberg

. The "Riverkings" have not been kings since they were promoted to the top league, they are only beggars. Also in 2021 it was clear: The league is simply one size too big for the Lechstädter. The last one who was beaten off last season is now starting the new year as a cellar child. It can't be much fun ...

Finally, another largely unknown sport that has many fans in Kaufering in particular: Floorball, a kind of ice hockey in the hall, without ice and skates, was formerly known as floorball.

The

Red Hocks Kaufering

have been playing in the first Bundesliga since 2013, but are again fighting to stay in the league.

After all: The Red Hocks said goodbye to the (short) winter break with a 9: 8 after extra time against Schriesheim and thus two points as well as a narrow cup knockout round against Weißenfels.
