Hundreds of millions of shekels a year will be put into the Authority: Ganz's gestures to Abu Mazen
The Minister of Defense promised in a meeting with the chairman of the Palestinian Authority a series of measures that will strengthen its economic situation.

Defense Minister Bnei Gantz agreed with Abu Mazen at their meeting on a series of economic measures in favor of the Palestinian Authority, his office said this morning (Wednesday). Israeli officials say that the implementation of these measures, along with other measures that are in the works, is expected to add hundreds of millions of shekels to the PA's budget each year.
As part of the agreements, another 6,000 residents will be updated in the Palestinian population register in Judea and Samaria on humanitarian grounds, as well as approval of 3,500 residents on humanitarian grounds residing in the Gaza Strip, tax payments worth NIS 100 million will be advanced, and an additional 600 BMC permits will be granted to businessmen. Palestinian officials, an addition of 500 such permit holders who are allowed to enter Israel by car, as well as an addition of dozens of VIP permits to Palestinian Authority officials.
Additional steps are underway, including examining the possibility of lowering the handling fees charged for fuel purchases, a pilot for the introduction of containers through the Allenby Bridge, the creation of a digital VAT platform that is in advanced staff work and the creation of an online payment platform from Israeli employers to Palestinian workers.
